I'd have to say I agree with this principle too

Though having said that I currently run a multitude of applications/devices
using v2/v3/ocx and other implemenentations and am yet to experience any
problems

John is kindly converting xplhal (which I suspect normally gets in first
with it's hub on my system, though I can't be sure what hub is running as I
have not set any dependencies) to v3 so I'll reserve any further judgement
until I see if I have any issues with the new version installed. As far as
I
know john has been running a v3 version of xplhal for months without issue.

It's feasable that there _is_ a bug in xplhal, in that if it can't start
it's hub it's blowing out for some reason (though I can't see any reason it
should in the code, and I haven't experienced this)

That all said, perhaps there should just be 2 separate hub implementations
on windows (service and non-service) and not have any app (including
xplhal)
install a hub...

My 2p worth

Regards
Tony
