Re: xPL Front End

Hi all,

Im new to xPL and automated control in general but I come from a
windows development background and i've recently bought a new house
which i've totally rewired with x10 throughout.

I was in the process of building a skinnable interface application
that talked to a cm12 and a w800 directly through the com port
(specifically for use on a 7" touchscreen and an airpanel) when i
discovered xPL by accident. I havent started testing yet but if i
understand xPL's features/capabilities correctly it looks like ill be
starting again using xPL to handle all the low level comms stuff so i
can concentrate on the flashy interface side of it.

My existing interface work has been done completely bespoke using
delphi and an excellent image handling library (g32) but i am
currently considering using a flash based interface with a sort of
external middle ware library to handle the xPL communication.

If anyone has any tips specifically on communicating with xPL i'de be
glad to recieve them.

Thanks

Steve Noyce
