Do you mean that each module is a .NET assembly?
(i.e. in the way that xpllib.dll is)
Or are they just old fashioned DLLs.
(I didn't think you could make old fashioned DLLs with VB.NET, but I
could be wrong)

If they're .NET assemblies, Mal can still use C++, however he will need
to create the C++ libraries as managed assemblies.
(called Class Library (.NET) in the list of project types)
