Hi Steve,

Yep, this is what I want to do within xplrionet, so it can have built-in
options.

I'm going to go down this route, but using andy's hash idea to id the track
(to avoid the purge, and moving tracks, problems)

So the table will be,

Hashsum, Date/time, player

With this info, and direct access to the artist/album/track tables it
should
be possible to introduce lots of nice selection options (and by collecting
each individual play it means, as you say, you can also base selections via
date ranges)

Obviously this leads to a bigger stats table than not collecting by date,
but I think the advantages will outway the disadvantages.
