I already do this with xql triggered via the play message from rionet.  I
have

Datetime, location, artist, album, track

You need location (i.e. which player)  if you want a chart for each device.
Also datetime is useful if you want to keep a chart for just the last month
or two weeks, otherwise you get a chart for forever.

That way I have most played track this week, month, year etc.
