One problem you might be seeing with the HV app is that if the normal HV
software isn't running when xpl_hvision starts it fails to connect using
the DDE.  There is an outstanding bug to get it to try and reconnect.  The
easiest why to see if you have good communications with HV is to expand the
xpl_hvision window and there are some extra boxes just off screen that
should you the DDE activity.

Hi Frank,

I actually got my determinators to work.  What I had to do was start
everything manually and in the correct order.  I had to set the
service to manual, and take xPLHvision out of the startup folder.
Then I rebooted the PC, started the xPLHal service, and then started
xPLHvision.  When I did everything in this order, things seemed to
begin working correctly.  I guess the secret will be figuring out how
to get the service to start cleanly withough hanging.

I'll keep plugging away.
