Hi Tony,
thanks for the response...

I was testing on another machine to see if I could get it working before
moving to
my server. Interestingly even when installed on the server it doesn't like
that
folder at all.. Since I'd originally copied some of my music to that folder
because
of the original software's database limitations it's not too much of an
issue, since
I'm made the xplrionet software point at my 'big' folder of mp3s

This hasn't happened since I moved it to the server and eventually got
everything
working. Once thing I did notice was that with the DHCP server in the
software
the clients.xml had the same ip for all 4 units. Not an issue now since I
use an external DHCP server anyway

ok, is this likely t o be added to the web interface?

If I see it again I'll let you know exactly what I did, it may have been
user error :D

Excellent!

:D great... unit2 isn't very descriptive :D (although I 've never had a
unit1 - numbering always starts at 2)

This is interestig since the rios now ignore completely the IR i send to
them
via homevision... I shall investigate more.
I started messing about with the web interface to try and beautify it a
little, and ran into 1 or 2 issues, mainly caused by the use of {blah}
where {blah} is replaced by the html. Some of these would be easier to fix
than others, for example:
{cmd_vol_up}
gets replaced with
<a
href="rio.htm?device=unit2&cmd=volup&style=artists&query=A&id=-1&source=artists&this=2004080105003620">Vol+
(42)</a>
IMHO, it would be better if it returned:
"rio.htm?device=unit2&cmd=volup&style=artists&query=A&id=-1&source=artists&this=2004080105003620"
on it's own so that I could add (for example)
<a href= and ><img src=images/volup.jpg borde=0></a>
myself giving:
<a
href="rio.htm?device=unit2&cmd=volup&style=artists&query=A&id=-1&source=artists&this=2004080105003620"><img
src=images/volup.jpg borde=0></a>
It'd also be nice (again IMHO) to have {volume_level} rather than passing
it back as part of the {cmd_vol_up}.
Similar things apply to the other links on the main page. The only one I'm
not sure how you would do is the {selections} part, again I'd like to
replace some parts of the returned results with graphic images.
Having said all that, this is bloody excellent, I've syncd my rios and it's
working prefectly...awesome, well done. In fact I just discovered that the
syncing allows you to control all the others from any locate... that in
itself is fantastic!!!
One final issue I have, and I'm sure I saw it somewhere, but is there a way
to set the client volume level when the client first boots (independant
would be excellent) since my rios seem to start off at a really low volume
level.
Once again well done to everyone involved in this project...
Andy
