If it's not getting the rioplay splash screen up, it's not seeing the
server
properly...
You won't get anything to work (xpl or otherwise) until you can see the
splash screen.
It sounds like the rio boot sequence isn't working, which has to complete
before rioplayxpl can even start.
Can you try it with the original receiver.arf (supplied with rio)?
