It isn't compulsory to support them, just need to ensure people are aware

the fact.

Not sure I follow the question, but if you mean can you stipulate a
maxmimum
time of 60 then yes.

I don't think it's compulsory, Ian can confirm?

Really yes, since only a bridge increments the hops then only a bridge
_has_
to check if it goes > 10
That doesn't mean you can't check this if you want to

The message to your pic could contain hop=1 thru hop=10 when it arrives,
since it could of passed over many bridges.
