Ethernet 10/100 BaseT. The device is based on a Connect-ME

uClinux as OS.

I know Michael's work for the HS community although I've never tested
his 1-Wire plugin. For the 1-Wire/xAP translation I prefer as you an
embedded solution. PCs are a great tool but in a distributed network I
don't like the idea of having lots or computers switched on all around
my home, with the associated heat, noise, consumption, mechanical
parts, etc.

After this project, I'm planning to develop a xAP/xPL Room Control
Unit based on the Connect-ME platform too.

At the moment I'm using the current UID structure. I hope you write a
red remarked post once this new UID be in place ;). Updating to the
new addressing schema is a matter of minutes.

I agree that the current UID puts some limits to devices as 1-Wire
gateways although 255 endpoints is already a good number.

Back to my original post, and following some advices collected from
the xPL forum, I've decided to report any state change, even for
latched inputs. So, a single button press will produce the following
BSC events: event ON, event OFF, event ON, event OFF.

Thanks four your help,

Daniel
