Hi Daniel,

The new UID format is very likely to be

UID=NN.AAAA:SS

Note the addition of the two delimiters . and : which segment the fields
similar to the textual source address.

NN= Network number
AAAA = Application/Device address
SS= Sub address (endpoints)

The NN AAAA and SS fields can be any (even) length you wish although we
will likely recommend some common formats , the one above shows the
current UID format. An old UID can be front zero padded to an equivalent
longer UID.  ie UID=NN.00AAAA.0000SS

The most popular new ones will probably be.

UID=NN.AAAA:SSSS
UID=NN.AAAA:SSSSSS
UID=NN.AAAA:SSSSSSSS
UID=NN.AAAAAA.SSSS
UID=NN.AAAAAA.SSSSSS
UID=NN.AAAAAA.SSSSSSSS

The values are uppercase hex and you should not use all zeros or all
FF's as these are reserved in xAP.
Additionally I would not recommend that you use any AAAA values starting
FF as we are likley reserving all these as blocks for particular
developers to allocate fixed UID's to their own devices

eg DON'T use

UID=FF.FF06:12
UID=FF.FF789A:02
UID=FF.0123:FF

We will also likely generate an automatic CRC hash xAPplication for the
AAAA portion based on the source address text, this will enable people
to select their own UID's fairly uniquely.
NB This is not formalised but a 'heads up' , it may still change
