Hi Edward,

I've just read your post on UKHA and wanted to let you know that I also
suffered a vision problem, starting in December 2006. After a number of
tests including CT & MRI scans the conclusion was there wasn't anything
seriously untoward (e.g. tumor, MS, etc.) and the most probable diagnosis
from the consultant was that I had an optic nerve palsy, initiated by an
(unspecified) viral attack. I was working long hours at the time and put it
down to being generally run-down. It was an unusual condition for my
consultant and had also stumped three opticians (one independent and two
within the family!). I had generally recovered by about May of 2007
although
slight relapses would occur when I got tired. Or drunk ;-)

If this is similar to what you're experiencing then I can elaborate
further,
otherwise please accept my good wishes for a speedy recovery!

Take care,

Tim.

Subject: [xap_automation] Where is Edward?

Dear all,

Apologies to those of you who have been trying to get a hold of me on email
over the last few weeks. One morning around the middle of October I awoke
to
find that my eyesight was significantly impaired and I was not able to read
the text on a computer screen. Nightmare. I've been for various tests and
medical opinions over the last few weeks but am still clueless as to the
cause. The good news is that my sight is slowly returning and today I'm
starting computer use again but am limited to only an hour or so per day at
the moment (with horrid large font settings). So if you are waiting for a
reply from me on something or a change or modification to some software etc
then I'm afraid you are going to have to be patient till I get back up to
speed with things.

Edward Pearson
