There's two things I thought of to suggest here. The first is, have
you tried the Listener application?

<<a href="http://www.xapframework.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=41";>http://www.xapframework.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&amp;d_op=getit&amp;lid=41</a>>

Edit the config file and set DisplayHeartbeats to false, otherwise
it'll clutter up the display too much.

Just set it running and when you get a garbled message, select/copy
the xAP messages that caused the problem. You should see a
Class=Mail.Incoming.New one, and a Class=xAP-OSD.Display one
immediately after it.

Assuming you're not running any other xAPps, the messages should be
easy to find. Maybe the xAP messages will give me a clue.

The 2nd thing isn't so easy because I haven't really got the ideal set
of trace output messages in either the POP3 app or the New Email OSD
app. I've just modified them here to report newer messages, but I've
started editing the code for the runtime that supports these modules
to cope with the new addressing schema James/Kevin suggested. I could
build from the released source code though...
