Maplin were selling a "Response" brand DECT door bell which
allows you to
talk to the person at the door. The pack included the unit to go outside
and a DECT phone for inside. I haven't yet investigated whether you can (a)
buy just the external bit and (b) whether you have to use one of their DECT
phones to receive the door bell or you can use any DECT phone.
