It works well for me. One network name, and devices connect to the
access
point which gives the best signal. I *presume* devices roam as we don't see
any drop-outs when moving around the house! Having a single SSID means
users don't need to switch between wireless networks as they move around.

All access points are connected to a wired network - they don't operate in
"repeater" mode (or whatever it's called :-) )
