The Popcornhour meets most of those specifications, however,

1: It's not the Apple interface, and as I have an AppleTV I understand your
view
of the Apple interface.
2: It's not small (size of most hifi components) but it is quiet (no fans),
and
it can take a DVD/ROM as well as an HDD (both optionally).

I agree on your DVD/BluRay comments, rather have a good movie as the
qualities
are not 'that' different, in fact I had a BluRay player and swapped back to
DVD
(daughter ended up very happy with my change of heart).
