Re: Drilling Blanking Plates?



I've had really good results with my CNC desktop mill. Used a
1/8" endmill with 4 flutes. The bacolite style material cuts very
cleanly and most any shape of aperture can be made in the blanking plate.
LCDs mount quite nicely. Best to use switches that have a 'flat' on one
side - completely circular ones tend to loosen off & spin around after
a while

Try to find a local machine shop. If you prepare a dxf file with your
design, it's a ten minute job and the results will be hard to distinguish
from a part that was produced with the holes in the first place.
