Thanks Paul,

I'll have to investigate the setting for DVD Decrypter a bit closer to make
sure I'm not keeping unnecessary baggage too.
VLC was taking 2.5 minutes for each minute of film so will try later on a
machine with a bit more grunt (but not as much as yours...).
FWIW, the 40mins it got through were pretty blocky on my laptop screen at
mp4 "quality". It should be fine on an iPhone/iTouch but I
suspect I'll
still need something better for the TVs.
