Re: Handbrake encoding times

I'm only encoding the main feature, one language (English), no subtitles,
e=
xtra angles or any such... This is because that's what I have now, since
my=
sources are DVDs which were already ripped to the NAS with those settings.=
The original DVDs were ripped in the first place with DVDFab, which I've f=
ound pretty easy, reliable and decent quality.

I'm currently maintaining 2 copies too... The MP4 for the apple world, and
=
the full quality DVD rips for devices that can handle them. This does of
co=
urse waste quite a lot if space! So once I've had a chance to evaluate the
=
"watchability" of the MP4 versions, I may consider deleting the
DVD rip if =
the quality is good enough... Especially for movies I may not be very
likel=
y to want to watch again or convert to something else in future...

Idea=

Still won't be in the sub-1 hour time slot, but will be better than 6 hour=
s. It's only a ~1 hour video after all. I'll also give it a try on a
better=
-spec'd machine as that's probably the biggest bottleneck :-/
