My choice too. My CH control was PIC based with CAN and power to the
control stations through Cat5. I had a CAN to RS232 link to my NAS which
allowed IP control. Somehow it seemed to impress people when I was in the
wilds of France and told them the temperature in my kitchen in Lincolnshire
and turned the heating down.
