RE: Suppliers of LinkUSB 1-wire controller ?
Slightly different issue, but I=92ve bought a LinkTH from Homechip and
foun=
d
the service excellent =96 it stopped working after a few days and they
suggested testing methods and eventually provided a replacement FOC. So
ver=
y
happy with their service.

One problem I have had recently is with the software provided by
iButtonLin=
k
for the LinkTH and it seems they are no longer supporting it =96 I found
th=
eir
(lack of) customer support rather rude and flippant. However for
temperature sensing the LinkTH is a very handy unit with a good instruction
set and takes a lot of the trouble out of deciphering 1-wire and I=92ve
bee=
n
able roll my own software for it using VB.

Homechip have a =A32.95 Royal Mail 1st class recorded option too. The only
thing I found was that when I added a couple of sensors the cart
automatically bumped it up quite a bit - a phoned them up and the told me
what to do to keep the original postage.
I don't know if there are any alternative iButtonLink suppliers - I think
they're made in the US so if your ordered from a supplier there I expect
th=
e
postage wouldn't be cheap either (and take longer).
I was new to 1-wire and the chap on the phone was pretty helpful too. I
bought a Link USB and it's been fine.
