Re: Squeeze Play on Joggler
The Android installation on Joggler has progressed very well in 2011.
I hav=
e tried several operating systems on the Joggler Android seems to suit it
b=
est and happily runs for weeks without rebooting (handy for an HA
controlle=
r).
The latest build (a week or two ago) is described here:

SqueezePlayer is now available on Joggler (x86) too - that's next on my
lis=
t to try too!

I am.
I'm using it under the standard Joggler OS with a server running on a
separate linux box.
All I can say is it is absolutely brilliant. Best 50 quid I ever spent. It
effectively becomes a Squeezebox Touch, but with a bigger screen. The only
downside is that you can't play WMA streams on it, Which is slightly
annoying for me as Planet Rock only broadcast higher bit rates in WMA. You
can apparently get the server to transcode, but I have not cracked it yet.
Iplayer plugin on it is very good.
As for remotes, I don't use one normally, as it is in front of me on my
desk and the touch screen interface is very good. But I have installed the
Logitech one on my Android phone and it works fine.
If you want digital output, you can modify a 10 quid usb sound card to
provide SPDIF or use an external USB DAC. Though I have not got that far
yet.
To install it, you'll need to get an SSH server running on the joggler,
loads of details here:

There is also a working squeeze player on android install too, which I may
try at some point.
