Hi Mark,

I built The home of the Future way back in 1989. It too used mobilephone /
land-line to control my own home, lights, curtains, hot water, heating
......... sprinklers in the lawn ....

It appeared on the 6 o'clock news program.

I built a 'two-way' IR controller which requested the status of each
appliance, (of any room / from any room) by scroling up - down through a
menu, and a single button which changed that status. It had an LCD that
gave an icon of each appliances status.

Further I embedded a digital-video-overlay onto my B&o TV, that allowed
me to watch any program and recieve 'home-automation' up-dates on the
screen.

Sad to say ...... it is still not big business.

Good Luck

Colin
