RE: Re: GU10 LED's

I have some fittings I can't put 12v ones into (pretty spotlights
someone
else chose that I can't get rid of) and am trying the GU10's on 120v to see
if that helps them last longer. No idea how a typical 230-110 transformer
would take being dimmed, don't think they are made for it like the 12v ones
are.

If it's ok I will do it to the outdoor lamps next, need to get some decent
colour in them rather than the horrid incandescent orange that the 20W
gu10's have. The 400v cap and small SMD's straight across the mains is what
has me worried about the GU10s, so half voltage should help a lot.

This is the same experience I have had, my LED GU10's seem to blow up on a
regular basis, far sooner than the halogen ones I have.

I am going back to halogen lights until the LED cost comes down and they
are
more reliable.

Cheers,
