Generally problems where you can receive BBC channels but not ITV (or
vice
versa) are down to bad antennas. The Beebs channels (are mostly)
transmitted
on a single mux (think analogue frequency/transmitter), poor antennas or
badly aligned antennas can cause some muxs to be OK but others to
disappear.

Have a look around your street for a TV antenna, then ask the owners if
they
get freeview OK.

Don't forget until the switch over, digital broadcasts are around 10% of
the
power output of analogue broadcasts and being digital they don't fade out
nicely like the analogue ones do, it a goes a bit pixelated then nothing.
That said, most house in the UK should be able to pick up digital TV now.
