RE: Programmable remotes
You can get IR to BT adapters for the Harmony and PS3 I think. Haven't
looked into the detail, but wonder if they can be used for other remotes?
Paul.

Hi,
Just looking at the web site at the moment.
A couple of things that I would like in a remote are The Harmony One
functionality (and I echo your statements about programming)
1) RF capability i.e. 433MHz comms to say X10 etc. (Personally I use
MisterHouse with a smattering of xAP,xPL and X10 devices)
2) Bluetooth interface to my PS3
Regards,
Neil Wrightson.

No, not tried them.
How's the programming? Which are the best remotes in their range in your
opinion?
Cheers,
Paul.

I have 3 Logitech Harmony One's and a couple of the more basic harmony
remotes in the house. After a few years of trying out pronto's etc, I ended
up going with the Harmony's simply because they were so quick to get up and
running - I was quite capable of programming the Pronto's but never got
past
about 10% of their programming as they just took so long to setup.
The biggest frustration with the Harmony's is that the software is complete
pants and if you're doing anything but simple config, it's incredibly
restrictive.
So, I thought I'd have another look around to see if there's anything else
worth considering at the moment.
Ideally it's have the following:
Comfortable hand held remote (not a pad/tablet)
Plenty of hard buttons (these are sooo much better than all touchscreen
buttons)
Touchscreen for custom buttons/activities
Powerful and fully-featured software - option for easy setup but then the
power to fully customise when the need arrises
Really, what would be great is the Harmony One hardware with much
better/more powerful software.
Anything like that out there?
Thanks,
Paul.
