RE: Rain Sensor - as a digital input

They're interesting :)

How good are they in practise - i.e. how heavy does the rain need to be to
trigger and how quickly do they dry off?

I'm also wondering if you would need two so that they can be angled in
different directions to allow excess rain to run off and hence dry out
quicker but also allow sensitive detection of blowing rain???

I have rain sensors on my electric Velux windows which can be really
annoying in the summer with light showers as the window closes to the vent
position, doesn't open again after a shower and the sensor can take a while
to dry off. Been thinking of bypassing to allow more intelligent control.

Cheers,

Paul.

Be careful of ones that don't have integral heaters. They will indicate
rain when there's only condensing dew.

I get a good discount so you can order through me if you want to.
