Thanks for the recommendation, I'm already running it and it does make some
things a lot better.

I'm really not convinced that a grid like EPG is usable with large amounts
of data but I've only having partial success with the searches and I guess
when you're struggling with something regular recordings being called
"control timers", and other unexpected behaviour just makes
things more
frustrating.

As it's the only real choice I've got for a low cost, low powered PVR I'll
just have to get used to it or dig out my C skills!
