RE: [OT] Vista MCE DVD playback

Well, by jove, I think I may have cured it... :-)

I'm not entirely certain how, - I haven't changed any hardware, or
changed any drivers or software, I just poked around tweaking various
configuration settings in the Windows display properties and the nvidia
display manager, *and* in the plasma menu's...

I just viewed a number of DVD passages, including ones where I'd
previous noticed the artifact was very obvious, and thus far I haven't
observed it happening once. I've also got both MCE and the windows
desktop pretty much perfectly scaled & centred on the plasma.

The only problem I now need to overcome is the missing PS2 port on the
ASUS mobo, - I have the keyboard plugged in to the single "combo"
port,
which works fine, but I *Need* a PS2 mouse as well, since it goes
through the KVM in the rack which doesn't support USB.. I just tried a
USB-PS2 adapter, which curiously, *seemed* to work when I first plugged
it in, but since I rebooted no longer appears to... I'll play with that
a bit more when I have the time/inclination...

:-)

Thanks for all the suggestions along the way.

Paul G.
