I hope everyone buying furniture from these "major
retailers" is paying
their deposits with a credit card - these firms have a history of
rolling through bankruptcy to clear their debts (shafting their
customers in the process), and using a credit card means you'll get your
money back.  In the current climate, I'd expect at least one of the big
names (probably Land of Leather) to go tits up.
