Thanks for all the replies.

I'll have to file a request to schedule some downtime when nothings
due to record.

Joking aside - I have tried the suspend button (on the remote); and it
does suspend/hibernate as configured - it's the waking back up
automatically that doesn't happen.

The Humax is quite-tempting - though I'd miss the XMBC
connectivity/music collection....

Managed to find some ram for an old mini-itx box (fanless, diskless
(CF card)), so assuming that that still works, I've got my WOL source
- will see if I can make sense of the schedule DB to generate "next
wake up time".
