This could be used to dramatically improve lighting automation beyond
that which can be achieved with a simple PIR based occupancy detector.
Perhaps even add a predictive element so that when you head for the
door, it starts to ramp up the lights on the other side...

Lots of other possibilities spring to mind. Eg. if coupled with a PTZ
camera (& spotlight).
