Suggestion for battery powered RF controlled relay needed..

  • Subject: Suggestion for battery powered RF controlled relay needed..

Hi

I have a need for a small battery powered box to fit on the wall that
will provide a relay or dry contact closure output but is controlled by
RF - no local power is available for this. . It needs to be
cosmetically nice as it is to be sited adjacent to a thermostat where it
will provide an overide function . The battery lifetime should be good
so an open collector or bistable relay is preferred. Perhaps a Zigbee
or Z-Wave solution for operation confirmation or alternatively something
where RFXCOM could send the RF commands - or failing that anything that
could be automated in some way.

Any suggestions ?

TIA K

PS The switching has to be done at the thermostat end of the cable as
the thermostat uses a 2 wire digital bus back to the boiler.
