Well, the CFL Friendly receivers are "Compact Fluorescent"
friendly, they
were developed so that fluorescent lighting didn't screw them up but it
happens that they do have a nice convenient notch in their response which
*CAN* be a cure for the background IR that flat panels spew out. If the
notch happens to coincide with the spurious crap that your panel produces
then they're a bloody godsend though!

It's a common thing with panels - as they warm up from cold then the IR
that
they give off changes.

When I was at Lets it always used to seem that LCDs started off giving off
loads of background IR and then settled down whereas plasmas initially
would
be OK but as they warmed up would get worse.
