Re: IR control of Kramer AV switch

Hi Keith

If you could use an NEC Format type remote and the serial protocol was
simple you could maybe use one of my irRGBLED boards...this is an ir serial
interface i made for my rgbled lighting....Have a look here...at the bottom

Subject: [ukha_d] IR control of Kramer AV switch

Hi everyone!

I have a Kramer VS-44HC AV switch which can be controlled locally using
IR, but simply doesn't respond when you put the IR signal across an
extender (like Xantech).

I've asked Kramer for advice, and they can't/won't help as they say
they have no experience of doing this, so i've got a very expensive
switch which isn't controllable remotely.

The only solution I can see at this point is to use an IR to RS232
programmable convertor as the switch does have RS232 input. But the
Xantech convertor is £250!!

Does anyone have any other suggestions or advice on how to sort this
out?

Thanks,

Keith
