Thanks Paul - you were spot-on and a hand saw was perfect.

Cutting the holes for the speakers was the part I was least looking
forward to however it much easier than I expected, even by hand.

The speakers I've put in sound pretty too - again much better than I
was fearing. So much better, that SWMBO is talking about putting them
in the lounge too :-)
I'll do a better write up once they've been in for a while.
