Re: Re: Bathroom Speakers Installation...any tips please?!
Hopefully my kitchen speakers will arrive in time for the weekend and
I'll be able to offer some tips too :-) My kitchen ceiling is artexed
but I don't seem to have the stalagtites you describe... You probably
only need an inch of "flat" artex around the perimeter of the
hole.
Without being able to go & listen to any, I've gone for Russound
Atmosphere SPA5C's from www.cyberselect.com at =A3130/pair. The specs
look good so its fingers crossed.
You might want to look at buying an adjustable hole saw, but check the
max dia of the saw versus the hole you want to cut. I've seen saws
that will do a 200mm dia, but also some that only go to ~160mm. It's
another =A350 on the budget though :-/
I think I'm going to use a padsaw and patience, perhaps with some
chain-drilling of the circumference too.
You might find an amp on your local Freecycle group
(www.freecycle.org). There's a few that come up on the groups I belong
too. If it's going to be hidden then looks/age aren't really important
:-)
HTH,
Tim.
