There are velcro tie-wraps, some up to 1" wide, which I would
expect
to put less pressure on the cables. Prices vary widely on this stuff
so it pays so shop around. IIRC there were also ties that came as one
long roll and you cut each to length as you needed it.

And if you can support the cable so that it doesn't chafe/snag as it
leaves the vertical to continue in the horizontal then so much the
better. I've also used spiral cable wrapping to provide mechanical
protection in places like this. e.g. p/n CBBR0911 at CPC.
