Re: Cable for Smoke Detectors
I have installled Kidde Fyrnetics mains ionisation / optical / heat
sensors (type depends on location) in my new build.
They use live neutral and a link. The link means if one sounds, they all
do.
To get remote notification I want to link them into my Powermax alarm. To
do this I have bought an interface base for one of the sensors which gives
a volt free pair of contacts (reed relay, I think). That will connect to
one of the hard wired ways on the Powermax.
Not commissioned yet, but the theory is ok (I think)!

Most mains powered/linked alarms are usually wired in series and simply
require a live & neutral feed to the first detector and then 3-core
(live,
neutral and link/signal) to the other detectors.

It sounds like mains voltage sensors though to me. Not sure how these are
wired though. As said before, these aren't designed to be used with an
alarm
system but used stand-alone I think.
