RE: Cable for Smoke Detectors



Is that why they have 3-core and earth, the extra core is for
signalling
the other alarm to sound.

This is what I have on the upstairs/downstairs alarms and I couldn't
figure out the wiring.

Yes - you simply wire them in series - or maybe parallel, can't remember
which way I did it now - but very simple. Or you can wire each back to
separate zones in Comfort, depending on whether you want to report
individual zones or have one big zone.
