C-Bus is usually wired using all eight cores of a CAT5e cable but
using two
sets of two cores "doubled up" to carry the power positive and
negative
(doubled up to allow a safe limit of 2A @ up to 36v - each CAT5e core can
handle 1A safely). The data is superimposed on the power.
The remaining cores are used to handle the "Remote On" and
"Remote Off"
signalling which isn't used at all by the switches.
