The HE203 cannot be connected to a dimmer switch - it has to be
connected to a standard on-off lightswitch.

It does not send any commands - it only receives them.

There are some switch remotes that send commands (HE307 / HE308),
which are similar to the old X10 stick-a-switches.

You could use one of those to control a dimmable socket, but...

1) They are smaller than a standard light switch.

2) They do no dimming themselves (so if you wanted to control the
main light too, you would need something like the ceiling pendant
dimmer set to the same code)

3) The switch itself is very easily broken when taking it apart to
replace the battery (speaking from experience there!).
