I use Skype all the time for this sort of thing. Back when they had
their
outage a few months ago I tried all the other options, but none seemed as
good and as simple as Skype. Skype now offered a higher-res option if you
buy one of the higher-end Logitech cameras and have a duel-core proc (there
are ways to fix it so that other camera's work ,but I've not had any joy),
so take a look at the link below for models, then got to eBuyer or
somewhere
to get them for a good price.

I'd like to run video calls with my parents as I only get to see them f2f a
few times a year. There are loads of web cams around but can anyone
recommend any that offer
+ good picture quality in typical indoor light, good depth of field so
+ that grandchildren etc can be seen playing
without having to put them directly infront of the camera
+ easy set-up/ easy of use (esp for remote end)
What s/w would people recommend for this - does skype do this?
