I'm using the cheap 4 Port PCI cards from LinITX ... I've been running

of them in my "old" server for a while and they've been spinning
drives up
and down under Windows XP just fine - didn't even know there was an issue
with SATA drives being spun down.

By the way - Samsung F1 1Tb drives on Aria today at =A366.64 inc VAT -=20
