Spinning the discs up seems to take a big ol' hit on power consumption,
when they're spinning they don't use a huge amount (I'll do some tests on
teh new server someday when I'm really bored) ... and bloody windows
insists on spinning discs up for no reason about every half hour or so
even though it's set to quite agressive power saving on the drives
themselves.
