Should be. I upgraded the drive in my V1 box to a 250Gb drive and it just
recognised it.
Worst case you would need to force a rebuild either via the menus or by
holding a couple of buttons at powerup.
With a Version 3 box SKY "STEAL" 80Gb of the hard disk for SKY
Anytime whic=
h
cant be disabled. That means that 50% of my hard disk isnt available for me
to use whereas the V1 box I have just upgraded has the full 250Gb available
giving 3 times as much space.
Did a comparison between the two boxes yesterday, told them both to record
the same 93 min movie. V3 box required 6% of the diskspace whereas the V1
box only needed 2%
Also encontered another strange quirk last night. Others have already
mentioned the Failed recordings for no reason but our box was down to only
16% free so I started archiving off "Roary the Racing Car" onto
DVD. I
discovered that one episode of Roary was listed as being 1452 minutes in
length and was taking 41% of the available space. 20 minutes later I had
burn the program to DVD and freed up a massive amount of space.

Be aware that if you pause Live TV you cant go into the planner without
exiting pause first. When you go into the planner it dumps the live buffer
so when you return to live TV you have lost the part of the program that
wa=
s
on whilst you were in the planner and all that was before it as well but
yo=

can overcome that by hitting RECORD first.
Couldn=92t agree more about Tivo. Currently playing with my second Tivo

got for =A325 off eBay :)
