RE: [OT] (A little) : Firewire cables...

Good find Andy - Chris H got in slightly quicker with the same URL! :-D

I was looking to possibly "defect" to Windows Home Server but it
seems that
MS still haven't fixed the old "Delayed Write Failure" bug under
firewire.

(I have been trying to find out whether the UBCore firewire drivers -
http://www.unibrain.com/Products/DriverAPI/ubcore.html
- fix the problem but
nothing definitive either way there yet.)

>From what I have been able to find out though it seems that the
"Delayed
Write Failure" stuff also applies to USB under Windows too so maybe
it's
buried a bit deeper than that ... certainly there seem to be dozens of
"solutions" to the problem but none of them seem to actually work
in all
instances. :-(

(I'm assuming that the Linux firewire support is still fatally screwed
too...)

Looks like I'm going to be sticking to my current Mac based solution for
now... :-D
