RE: Lighting and HA

Well if you don't want to rewire then you should look at Rako, uses a
proprietary wireless comms protocol to link dimmers to keypads. Should
allow
controls to be added to an existing lighting system without any rewiring,
just re-terminating the cabling that is already in place.

If you are able to rewire the lighting circuits and keypads then you can
pick any of the systems around. If it is din-rail mounted kit then you can
go for C-Bus, Dynalite and Helvar Digidim amongst others.

Subject: [ukha_d] Lighting and HA

Hi all, I've come across from the uk selfbuild yahoo forum, and am in
the middle of a small 2 bed detached with detached garage.
I've reached the point now where I have to advise the electrician of
switch / socket positions etc.
I'm just considering a conventional system, but with cat5e cables upto
the switches etc for future upgradeability.
The c-bus system seems like a good bet, although expensive if each room
needs a dimming module (hopefully all DIN rail
mounted)
In any case, I'm after a retro-fittable (if needs be) system, as future-
proof as possible, pc controlled, and able to integrate with other
systems.
Any recommendations / advice very much appreciated.......Chris.
