Thanks Dean but I seriously doubt that even Pioneer or their agents
will
replace a 7 year old PCB. If I can't find an electronics engineer who can
repair the board then I'm screwed!

I believe this is the known PSU problem with Pioneer units my 434 failed
exactly the same and it was replaced FOC well out of warranty.

Pioneer support are not very forthcoming - ring them up ask for a local
repairer - my repairer immediately confirmed it was FOC replacement.

Do a Google for Pioneer Plasma problems - its bound to come up.

Thanks.

I spoke with their European headoffice today and a very nice chap managed
to
find me an RS part which I fitted.

Now the problem is although the plasma goes into standby which it didn't
yesterday when I switch it on the power led goes green and 3 or so seconds
later I hear a relay click and goes back into standby.

So, what I need now is an electronics engineer that can test the PSU board.

Any offers?
