[OT] Measuring network traffic AND Three Broadband

Hi All,

Is there a free or trial utility that will allow me to measure traffic from
a machine to outside its own subnet.

eg. machine is 192.168.0.xxx and I dont want to measure trafic to other
machines within the house but want to measure everything passing through
the
router to my ADSL connection.

Ideally I would like to be able to reset the traffic counter so I can see
just how much typical activities use eg Downloading a whole days emails,
reading and replying to a forum etc.

I am thinking of getting GPRS modem from "Three" but need an idea
of typcial
usage so that I can decide whether to go for the 1GB or 3GB option.

I know many people here use T-Mobiles Web n Walk but I cant justify havign
a
contract mobile phone as I rarely use the phone I already have and the deal
from Three sounds a perfect way of getting affordable data when I am out
and
about.

Does anyone have experience of the Three Broadband service ?

Also, with GPRS, is is possible to maintain a connection whilst driving
from
cell to cell as you can with a phone call or do lose and remake the
connection. eg would streaming a radio station work whilst driving around?
